The Mission and Purpose of the Holy Land Experience is to demonstrate the ‘greatest commandments’ of our Lord Jesus Christ as set forth in Matthew 22:37-39, “To love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” and “To love your neighbor as yourself” and to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ as set forth in Matthew 28: 19, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” HLE accomplishes its mission and purpose in the following manner:
HLE is a house of worship. As a Christian Church, HLE is a gathering place for believers to experience and share in worship, ministry, preaching and teaching in a non-denominational setting. All are welcome, regardless of who they are, where they come from or how they believe. HLE draws from the best and greatest preachers, teachers and worship leaders, conducting church services for the general public on a regular basis throughout the week.
HLE is a center of enlightenment and of Biblical education. HLE re-creates historically significant Biblical points of interest in Jerusalem and Israel, from an accurate depiction of Herod’s Temple to the Upper Room, the entirety of HLE is to bring the visitor into a place of understanding of Christianity’s historical roots. Likewise, HLE displays and exhibits one of the world’s largest private collections of authentic, ancient artifacts, manuscripts, Bibles and other archeological archives. With its well educated and knowledgeable pastoral staff HLE explains, illustrates, demonstrates and interprets the Biblical manuscripts, codices, stone tablets in both their historical context and in terms of their significance in today’s modern world in a thought provoking manner.
HLE is a sanctuary of Prayer. One can also easily join in communal prayer through one of HLE’s many services held in various venues throughout the park. However, if you are looking for a place of quiet and privacy to commune with God, one will discover the quiet gardens, alcoves, other places specifically designated for prayer, meditation and quiet worship. Likewise, HLE has a staff of ordained ministers who are called for the specific purpose of listening to ones needs and praying for you personally.
HLE is a place of Joy. Not only does HLE bring the historical Bible to life through its marvelous exhibits and demonstrations, it also brings the wonderful truths of the Bible to life through theatrical reenactments, stage plays and interpretive dramas. Stories from both the Old Testament and New Testament are performed live every day, telling stories of God’s love with a message of redemption, forgiveness, healing and faith in a fashion that is both entertaining and relevant to today’s modern life.
HLE is the home of Hope. Jesus Christ came to earth as the living sacrifice to redeem mankind back to God. Through the HLE presentation of “The Passion”, one clearly sees the love of Jesus Christ for humankind and his ultimate sacrifice on the Cross for the sins of the world. His Resurrection from the grave reveals him to be our true Savior and his ascent into Heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father gives us hope for eternity.
Holy Land Experience, a house of worship, a center of enlightenment, a sanctuary of prayer, a place of joy and the home of hope.
